This is more of a opinion thread, but I want your input on whether or not you find the Scales of War stuff put out by WotC to be any good, and therefore, would it be worth it to convert them to FG2?

Thanks for your input. I currently write my own stuff, but the idea of having something through level 1-30 is quite appealing.

Thanks.

I haven't read the modules yet so I can't comment on if they are any "good" and you probably won't know until they are at least about half way through the adventure path.

However, from an input into FG point of view, because they are in digital form already they would not be that hard to input - especially if you only input the maps and monsters/NPCs and just read the rest from the PDF.

With the first tier of SoW adventures now out there, does anyone have any opinions on these things? I would also be interested to hear if anyone has had any luck with FG2 input, Tenian's parsers etc, all relating to the SoW adventures of course.

I've been running a Scales of War campaign in FG2. We are enjoying it quite a bit, I would say. The adventure path itself has a quality control issue that requires DMs to be on their toes and to read as far ahead as possible but, really, it has some great moments.

As far as FG2 goes, I started by making modules out of each adventure but this took quite some time and, honestly, I find the PDF formatting vastly superior to FG2's. With a few scrolls of the mousewheel I have a full page of information at my fingertips.

That said, Tenian's parser's have been IMEASURABLY useful. If I didn't have them, I doubt I'd be playing Scales of War... if I have to put everything in manually, I might as well write the campaign myself at that point.

Your question was kind of vague so my answer was as well, but if you have any questions regarding something more specific I'd be happy to answer them. I'm not sure if you want spoilers and other story information, quality of NPCs, quality as a campaign, encounter quality, or whether you just wanted to know how well they fed into FG2.

Thanks for this. It's good to hear that Tenian's parsers work well on it (I have used them myself elsewhere) but I suppose I chiefly want to know about the quality of the campaign so far. I discounted it all several months ago when Episode 2 came out and it was almost as disappointing as the first one. Plus there was still all this mullarkey about not having a campaign overview which I couldn't really forgive (I know they have now released one of sorts). I am given to understand that they have been improving and addressing the issues raised by the punters so, in short, I am thinking of returning to it and was wondering if the quality is worth it. So yes, spoiler-free as much as you can but if you have any comments on "quality of NPCs, quality as a campaign, encounter quality" they would be appreciated.

Thanks.
