Saw this posted on playDnD yesterday:

Does this mean we can have the same type of support in FG2 as it is in 3.5? To be honest JPG 4E ruleset works well, but I would love to have the PHB, MM, and DMG as the 3.5 ruleset has. Since the JPG is feature complete I hope FG takes that and builds on it for an awesome 4E integration in FG2.

Or, we can wait and see because the new GSL be just as lacking as the current one. I'm waiting with fingers crossed. But its nice to see WotC listen to its community, and I hope they take a step in the right direction!

I think WotC are listening to third party companies telling them to shove it where the sun doesn't shine :D

Too early to say, but it does smack of humble pie - or an attempt to overplay the scale of the changes.

They will take a big hit if they isolate the 3rd party developers. I realize they are trying to make as much money as possible, and that's ok that's what businesses do, but somewhere you have to look at the quality of the product and your customer-base.

I would suggest it's more Wizards sacking their legal department for ridiculous advice, but whatever news they have will be good. Whether it's good enough remains to be seen. Also worth noting that the decision is against a backdrop of excellent claimed 4th edition sales figures, so it can only be commended.

I'll guess they will stop the being able to revoke the license on any product already approved at anytime. I suspect approved products will be good for like 2-5 years under the license they were approved with at the time. This will clear up the uncertainty of publishing 4E stuff and getting stuck with a warehouse full of product you can't sell.

I doubt they will change any of the electronic portions of the GSL which will mean things stay the same with FG. If they do change this it will mean they are throwing in the towel for DDI. They just got rid of Gleemax to "concentrate" on DDI (and online Magic) so I don't think they are ready to throw in the towel yet.
