Hi
I wonder if anyone can help.
I am using 5e with Dragonlance shadow of the dragon queen.
In yesterdays game with four players my players where having trouble at first with not being able to see their maps then not seeing anyone on the map ect..but we resolved that but then a player drew on the map and later when I tried to erase their drawing...My pointer or curser turned into a spinning wheel of death and I was unable to click anything at all we waited but I had to force quit fgu...this happened twice in one session both times I had to force quit fgu.
What can I do ?
Clearly I am not gonna touch the eraser again in a game lol...but is something else the problem?
Side question... I have no extensions at all...and all my players always update with me...
Pregame..I did create several story pins on my last two maps, not sure if that was part of the problem.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Usually spinning wheel or crash conditions indicate some issue with certain actions in the program, and the logs may help.
If anything like that happens in the future, please exit the application, restart, open the user menu in the upper right, choose the Compile Logs option, and provide the logs file to support.
If you have any details on the exact steps we can use to recreate, that would be very helpful as well, as the logs don't always have information that will help.

Hi Moon Wizard
It just happened again.
The only difference is that I have no players...I went in tried to rub out a pen mark and I get the spinning wheel.
How exactly do I send this log file to support ?
I have the folder on my desk top now.

Its ok I think I figured it out how to send it to support.

Appreciate that. As I mentioned, any specific details to recreate (or a video of the issue), would allow even faster resolution. I basically need to pass this to Carl to look at; and see if we can figure out what is happening. If we can get steps to recreate, that makes it very straightforward.

Thanks so much for the extra help. I've passed all the information along to Carl, so he can look at it this week.

Hi Moon Wizard
A player was able to place a horse token they had created onto the map without it being in the combat tracker...would that make a difference. in how the maps react ?
I thought no tokens could normally be added by players unless given by the dm first ? and I did not do that.

No, the player token would not affect.
Carl thinks it's in the nature of "scribble painting" and "scribble erasing" creating a lot of fragments; so should definitely increase brush size and reduce scribbling. He is planning to try and repro to make sure that some other code issue is not happening (such as endless loop or exception).

Thanks great to know...So in the future I need to increase the brush size and reduce the scribbling... got it.

I've tried several attempts at recreating, but I haven't been able to yet. As Moon Wizard mentioned, when you're erasing large areas, increasing the eraser size reduce the complexity of the calculations. If you're erasing all of the drawing, you can also use the "clear drawing" option in the right-click menu.

Hi pindercarl, No worries and thanks for looking into it...The Clear Drawing option will be my go to.
