When using an image with a "pointy-top" hex grid, tokens are rotated 30 degrees clockwise by default.
I am struggling to come up with a scenario where this is desirable behavior. :D

It's a facing consideration. Hex grids are set up with 6 facing points; so the top is considered the top-right and rotation is done by 60 degree arcs.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work for games such as Lancer.
Larger mech tokens use more hexes and and they are designed to have the pointy-top, well... you know, at the top.

Edit: I just realized that changing the option to have the Facing Indicator on shifts the token back to correct orientation. Coincidentally, that was the very thing I was going to suggest.

It seems to me that you are correct, that for hex-row, the orientation should be corrected by 30 degrees. Traveller is the only other system that uses hex-row for maps that I can think of. I'll query some of the active Traveller users and get their input.
