Title.
After one of the new updates [I just realized this] the Narrator only reads aloud "Fantasy Grounds Window" which writes on top of the window.
I'm assuming it cant reach text windows within FGU.
I also have a script running for read aloud in case Narrator doesnt work, but it also cant read.
Just FYI.

The recent Launcher update broke tablet and touch input. This should be fixed in the next update. Since Narrator requires a touch input, this could be the issue.

Ah, so the touch input was the issue.
Thanks for fixing it. :)
Can't wait listening to new adventures!

Update on this:
In 5.1.12 Patch Notes (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/filelibrary/patchnotes_v4.html):
[FIXED] Tablet input support re-enabled.
But Narrator or other read aloud software still can't read text in FGU.

The only change introduced recently that should have impacted Narrator was the breaking change on touch screen support. Having fixed that, I don't have much else to add. I'm surprised to hear that Narrator ever worked with Fantasy Grounds. FGVTT does not present text in a way that is accessible to the OS. Unless Narrator is performing an OCR of the screen, I'm not sure how it would have worked at all. I haven't found any information on how Narrator "reads" the text, though I did see that Microsoft added AI to Narrator to read aloud descriptions of images. Maybe this change is related.

That's also what I searched and came empty handed.
But I also have an ahk script that uses the Narrator's natural voices and read aloud text. This is the one that always worked.
In here: https://www.reddit.com/r/accessibility/comments/1gjv0h7/universal_texttospeech_shortcut_on_windows/
This one uses a github software called https://github.com/gexgd0419/NaturalVoiceSAPIAdapter
And it reads what's in the clipboard, rather than in a window. The script code is in the reddit page.
EDIT: When I select and/or copy text into clipboard in FGU, it doesnt work. But in here for example, it reads aloud any text I select.
Let me try to find more info and update.
Thanks for working on this, I know it's not part of the VTT. It helps to understand what I read though.
EDIT: New TTS, it's working now.
I found a new tts that works: This one also reads from clipboard and this time it reads as long as I copy the text.

I found a new tts that works: read4me Simple TTS Reader.

Sorry for wasting time.
Btw, narrator was reading FGU text while getting the words in a blue box. I noticed it doesnt do that anymore.
Instead it's just a big blue box around the entire window,.
Also, with these text-to-speech programs generating read-alouds, I was also turning win narrator voices into voicemod3 voices via voicemeeter setup.
That's how they sound like Morgan Freeman, barbarian, or other characters.
