Attached is a screen shot of the up Check for Updates pop-up. It is not updating; the window is frozen.

Do you have sufficient disk space?
Try Settings > Support > Force App Update

That usually means that the "FGUpdaterEngine" application is being blocked from accessing the network. Please check your Windows Defender (or OS firewall) settings to make sure that FGUpdaterEngine application is allowed access to the Internet.

I uninstalled FG and reinstalled in Windows. Problem has resolved itself.

exact same problem since update. never had this issue before

Check your updater log file. If it gives you an invalid user error, try resetting your password and making sure it matches in the FG Settings.
