Dumb Question….. Am I Supposed to Create these Effects Myself?

I’ve purchased the both Player’s Handbooks, both Dungeon Master’s Guide, Xanathars, Tashas, Sword Coast, Heroes of Faerun and more. I have Good Extensions as well although I have disabled most of them for now. I figured shouldn't the Effects already exist from the books or extensions?

Am I doing it wrong?

Not every effect will be created for you. When you create characters then most of the effects flowing from character traits that can be created will appear in the character's actions tab. Weapons will create weapon lines if they are equipped in the characters inventory. Most spells will also create effects when you add them to the actions tab. Some spells either don't have effects because they are theatre of the mind (such as charm person) or there's no effect that can be created (such as for Longstrider) There will be some cases where effects are not created (for example equipping a magic item won't create any effects). Many feats will also get properly treated if the character has the feat (for example Warcaster).

Regarding extensions - unless those extensions are official extensions tied to official products, there's no way that effect coding for third-party/community extensions can exist in official products. Check the forum thread for the individual extensions and there may be guidance as to how to add effects related to the extension, maybe even some commonly used examples.
