The updater is not updating -- even itself

Every time I have tried to update my FG settings and content, the updater, which is still at 5.0.0, simply freezes. I can't look behind the scenes, so I don't know for sure what it is — or isn't — connecting to.

I think I may need to get a completely new download to update the updater. Know where I can find one?

The installer actually contains the updater; which then installs the program and any content you own. By re-running the installer, you are re-installing the udpater. You can also uninstall first to be sure.

However, the first thing you should check is to make sure that Windows Defender (or equivalent firewall if not on Windows) is set to specifically allow FGUpdaterEngine to access the Internet.
