I should be able to subtract one die from another. The example given is: 3d6e-2d4e and the Meaning listed ends with "When roll completes, subtract the terms to provide result." But it doesn't subtract, it adds instead.

Yeah, it's something that will need to be tracked down and fixed in the client. The logic is pretty heavy in there; so will be a while.

You can work around this by using 3d6e!-2d4e! for now

I really just want /die 1d20-1d6, but trying /die 1d20!-1d6! is still adding number together. Is there a workaround for what I'm trying to do here?

No, it's not working for me either in 5E; so something might be modifying the string, probably something related to ADV/DIS. Will need to investigate.

Yeah, it was. Just pushed a hot fix to 5E ruleset that should allow /die 1d20-1d6 to work correctly again. (as long as you don't push ADV/DIS button)
