View Full Version : Errors when translating into Polish

Hi!
I’d like to run a Vampire campaign on FG. I bought the core rulebook, but not all of my players are comfortable with English, so I decided to translate all the disciplines, skills, and so on for them. However, I’ve noticed an issue that’s probably related to Polish characters. When creating powers, there are things like Amalgams. The dice pools let me link to custom discipline names just fine - as long as there are no special Polish characters like “ś” or “ć”. For example, “Auspex” in Polish is “Nadwrażliwość”, so when an Amalgam requires “Nadwrażliwość 3”, the ability doesn’t show up on the list even though the requirements are met. Any ideas how could I solve this problem?

That would be correct, it is quite difficult for the system at the moment to translate those type of characters. However the fields need to be English, but the description areas can be any language as that area is not factored in the system's automation.

The image above shows a power record. The fields would be everything that is not the 'Click to enter text'. Those fields are required for automation and need to be English for the automation to work correctly. The only field that appears is the name and the description for the players when the record is locked. Many records follow this logic. This was designed towards that direction for more multi-language support. Unfortunately the name field needs no special characters for the parser to work correctly at this time.

I understand—so for now it won’t work, and there’s no way to get around it other than removing Polish characters from the discipline names, right?
Alright then, thank you for the response and I wish you all the best.
