First of all, Sorry for any grammar mistakes - English is not my native language.
I have to report a problem i had and ask questions about Fantasy grounds and it's performance.
I Was DMing a very long session where my Players were at a goblin Camp. There was like 30 creatures on it + Players.
The map is from Icewind Dale - Rime of the Frostmaiden (Karkolok).
I only added Blizzard Effect on module the map to simulate strong wind, nothing else.
At first the encounter ran Smoothly on 30fps (set manually). As my Players were 'unaliving' goblins every turn, the encounter was getting with less and less enemies. I expected performance to get better and not worse.
But performance started to get lower and lower.
At one point, the game started to get very slow, so i removed the Blizzard effect and things got slightly better, but at the end of the combat, fantasy grounds stopped responding, and then when it 'came back', the NPCs were removed from the map.
I lost all the NPCs information on combat tracker. Their HP and Status.
It didn't crash, just removed them All.
So i have some questions:
1) Was that intended to "Clear system memory or something" or was it a bug? I believe it would be preferable to Crash fantasy grounds, so i could restart with the combat tracker intact than lose it all.
1.1) Can i restore the combat somehow?
2) What is the recommended specs for Fantasy grounds? I know it is difficult to give a proper answer since some GMs could run 4K maps and lots of effects, but considering "Big encounters", with stardard modules maps and LOS, what could be a good computer to run?
I have a Laptop with a NVIDIA dedicated graphic card (not gamer, it was intended for Work), 8GB RAM and SSD.
I would need a reference to what is the recomended system requirement in order to consider upgrading my hardware or to move to another VTT less demanding.
