Hello,

I recently had issues sharing a map with the share option in the top right of the corner, I worked with pindercarl, and we narrowed the issue, and it was supposed to be resolved after a recent patch. Now if I hit the share button in the top right tool bar, the outline of the map window pops, but then everyone is disconnected from fantasy grounds. Except it does not tell the clients, the FGU client just hangs for them, but as the DM I see the disconnect message. They have to alt-F4 or use a similar manner to close the program.

Before I could always right click on the map and share, and it worked. Now after the recent patch, if I share the map with someone that I already shared with, instead of reloading the map like it did in the past, it disconnects everyone. They can reload fgu and connect - and then see map. The share button in top right on tool bar, seems to always disconnect everyone, even if I unshared it.

My current work around is to simply unshare map (just in case), then share via the right click on the map. And while I can do that, it is quite annoying if a player accidentally closes the map, or loses it for some reason, and I have to re-share. Which means I need to follow the unshare all, then re-share again. I know there is a find token - but I have some people that it takes me like 5m to explain it (every session), so often was easier for me to reshare the map.

I have shared my campaign files before, but if you need me to upload a fresh campaign, please let me know.

Thanks,

Elaith

We just pushed v5.1.9 that Carl believes should fix this issue. Can you please run a new Check for Updates, and let us know if you're still having an issue?

If a player loses a map they they are on, the can double click on their combat tracker token. They can also bookmark an image to help mitigate accidentally closing the map, etc.

They can also click the locate token button in the header of the PC sheet.
