My GM has a mini system based on the AMD 8845hs SOC. He is getting severe latency with the mouse when opening large or multiple maps.

I've never really dug in to the GM side of things. Is there a place/site/way to get some very large, complex (lightning, layers, etc) maps to test out with my desktop system and laptop?

I'm in Nevada and he is in Colorado (we both used to be bay area) so just heading to his place to work on the computer is not so viable.

Thanks

I don't know that system specifically but if they are getting lag then the main reason will be that the images being used are too big for his system to handle. There's not a lot you can do to counter that other than using smaller maps with less occluders and lighting on them. You don't give any specifics as to how large these images are but the recommended maximum is 4k x 4k .webp format and less than 2Mb in file size.

There's some guidance here on reducing GPU usage https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/1638006786/Reducing+GPU+Usage but the main problem will be map size if his computer can't handle large images.

Your GM could export their map/s into an FG module and make that module available to you (email/cloud share depending on size), then you can load that module into your own local campaign and test the same maps your GM is using.

Setting gpu in windows to full power always and changing to a new wired mouse appear to have resolved.

Thanks
