I’m still learning lots about creating automation effects. Can you all give me some really good extensions to make the game better?

Which rule set?
How long have you been using Fantasy Grounds?
Are you looking for quality of life or specific or targeted functionalities?
Some extensions break often, are you aware of the potential risk or upkeep in regards to reporting and testing of bugs introduced by changes to the FG VTT platform?
For 5e, many users are using Auras and BCEG, however some changes to the core FG effects engine are in process now. Perhaps wait until some of these changes are tested and shaken out?

There are no best extensions. It's a matter of what you find problematic and then finding an extension which might solve that problem for you.
However as pointed out above, learn how to use FGVTT without any extensions first until you are very familiar with how actually works, and then think about extensions. Also as @Laerun says there's a major patch coming soon which re-writes the whole effect system which will make a number of effect extensions obsolete and change the way others might work.

It's not an extension but a module and it might not reflect April 28 effects, but it is a good start if you want to learn effects.

Go to your Inventory in the Forge https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/inventory
From the list of extensions, press disable & hide for the ones you dont wanna see. Then update the launcher.

No one can see your inventory but you.
And as the other said, it is best to learn the functionalities of the base VTT first.
But I can say that if you're not aware of how an extension works, it is safe to just not use it.
You dont have to disable. You just dont tick its box when you create/load a campaign.
I suggest first read the description in their forge pages. If you want them, add them 1 by 1, only focus on 1 of them at a time.
Based on what you read poke it around to see what capabilities it has.

Oh wait sorry, I thought that was a link, cant see well right now.
I know some of the extensions you have. Some of them dont need an update for now [until 28 Apr] because nothgin changed for them to update.
I know Arbitrary Arcana was having errors [it creates a wizard's spellbok as an item with links to spells].
Others such as item/etc effects no need a change because it only affects item coding. But some of them that uses Attack, Damage effects will change in April 28.
There are too many extensions there and I see blurry but as a rule of thumb, if you decide to disable them for being abandoned, you can go back and check them in the Hidden tab in your inventory in case they come back.

I'm starting to do that now. I do know the basics of creating effects like Resistance, Immunity, adding Hunter’s Mark to dmg and basics
