I'd like to make some mods to put up on the Forge but I have had no luck making anything. Are there any good tutorials people recommend?

I'd also like to discuss what types of mods I'd like to make or see and let others share their wishlist here also:

A pack of top down tokens and profile pics for all the major races.
A pack of top down tokens and profile pics for as many minor races as I can do (maybe some sort of constantly growing project).
An extension mod for each DLC adventure that adds VTT materials (maps, tokens, NPCs, items,...).

When making Token packs include at least two views, top down and portrait for the three different views available.

Check with others but I am not certain of the current status of Mongoose allowing TAS products on the Forge yet.

I don't work for Mongoose or anything, but I do know they do not allow any officially licensed products under the TAS banner to be created or sold for VTT (Fantasy Grounds, Roll20, Foundry, etc) purposes. There are some very long discussion threads related to this topic on the official Mongoose forums with no real solutions for people that want to sell official products they have or would like to create. That being said, if you make your own unofficial extensions or modules with your own art and decide to make them available for free or sell them on the FGU Forge, I am not sure that Mongoose could do anything about it. You would have to be careful not to use any of their intellectual property in anything you make. You can also email their support email asking the same sorts of questions as above and you will get a response.

It does sound like the all the things you want to create would be done using a Module. An Extension is different and specifically used to somehow modify or add functionality to a ruleset and has XML and LUA code associated with it.

For making Modules from a Fantasy Ground perspective, I would say start here: https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/996644336/Developer+Guide+-+Modules
