View Full Version : Map Pins Become Too Small When Zooming Out

Hello,

I would like to report an issue I’ve been experiencing with map Pins in Fantasy Grounds Unity.

Previously, Pins would scale differently from the map when zooming out. As I zoomed out, the Pins became proportionally larger and easier to locate, which made navigation much more practical, especially on large maps.

However, currently the Pins appear to scale together with the map zoom level. This means that when I zoom out, the Pins also become smaller, making them very difficult to see and locate. Because of this behavior, zooming out no longer helps with map navigation, since the visual reference points shrink along with everything else.

I would like to know if this change was intentional, if there is a setting that restores the previous behavior, or if this might be a bug.

Thank you for your time

You can hover over a pin and whilst holding CTRL use the mouse wheel to make all of the pins larger or smaller.

Thank you for the suggestion, I appreciate the help.

However, this is not exactly the same behavior as before. Previously, the Pins would automatically scale depending on the map zoom level — they became larger when zooming out and smaller again when zooming in. This made them much easier to locate on large maps without affecting normal viewing when zoomed in. Manually increasing the Pin size using CTRL + mouse wheel changes their size permanently, which means they can become unnecessarily large when working close to the map. What was especially useful before was the dynamic scaling, where Pins adjusted automatically based on zoom level. This is also a common behavior in many map applications and feels much more practical during navigation.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

Unfortunately, we couldn't find a method that everyone was happy with regarding pin sizes, due to differences between people using for dungeon maps vs. overland maps vs. encounter maps, etc.
So, the pin sizes are now locked to the grid size, and can be adjusted on a per map basis as needed.
