Hi,
There a strange version of the art in th module. I dont have the original in print book to compare, but fells like a errors from AI tool or something, clearly a alteration/error in the original art (maybe AI extended the image in height and make a error).
Follow the print of the module and the original/art from web.
Module > D&D Forgotten Realms Heroes of Faerun > Chapter 6 > Purple Dragon Squire (correction edit:
D&D Forgotten Realms Heroes of Faerun > Chapter 1 > Backgrounds)
66614 (MODULE)
66615 (ORIGINAL?)
66616 (ORIGINAL?)

What do you think the error is? That AI extended the image used in teh FG version and made it larger? Or do you see some error in the image compared to the other two versions?
Looks to me simple like the two that you think are original are simple cropped versions of the original. SmiteWorks doesn't alter the images they put in the FG modules, they use the artwork given by WotC.
Heres another version online with the uncropped version; (4) Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/DTsadAsFW5Y/?__d=1%E5%B9%BF%E4%B8%9C%E6%B1%9F%E9%97%A8%E5%8E%B B%E5%93%AA%E9%87%8C%E6%89%BE%E5%A5%B3%E6%A8%A1%E7% 89%B9%E8%99%9A%E6%8B%9F%E5%A5%B3%E5%8F%8B%3F%2B-%2B%E6%B1%9F%E9%97%A8%E5%A5%B3%E6%A8%A1%E7%89%B9.% E2%9C%94%EF%B8%8Fdxs.bar)

Perhaps I misspoke; the problem isn't the cropping, it's the alteration to the original image. See attached for clearer understanding.
I perfectly understand that the images come from WotC, I just don't understand why this alteration, which seems like an error, was made.

Ah, that shows it. No idea how that happened, maybe an error during file conversion or transfer. Will have to let the converter or SmiteWorks to answer.

The image from the pdf supplied by WotC (and this is in Chapter 1 by the way, I don't see this image in Chapter 6) is as shown below. Clearly it has been cropped in the pdf but WotC also supply the original images and that is also shown below. I don't know where you are getting the other image from but what's in the module is what was supplied to enable the conversion.

@Zacchaeus - are there layers in that TIF file? As shown in the animated GIF in post #3, there appear to be two instances of the figures to the left and right - check the legs on the carpet and the images levitating about it!

I'm so sorry, I said in the wrong place, the image are in:
D&D Forgotten Realms Heroes of Faerun > Chapter 1 > Backgrounds
In both LIBRARY and MODULE. I guess the alteration was made in the art for cropping and in the final file someone forgot to crop (lift all elements in art to show when cropped) a simple designer alteration, I understand now.
So, there is, sorry to bother you guys with this minor thing.

No worries. That is indeed weird. Normally, when we make conversions of modules, we try to include full images whenever possible instead of cropped versions. The full image provided in this case looked to be a flattened version of an image that originally had multiple layers. All we had available was a single layer TIF file. I went ahead and cropped it down to match the printed book version and I updated the module in FG and in the reader.

I just got a message that Doug has fixed this.
@Trenloe, no the .tif file was layer-less.
