I'm not sure whether this changed with the recent attempts to fix font issues, or with the version change, but the Text behavior seems to have changed dramatically.
I would label maps and turn off lighting for the text, so the labels would always be visible to the players. Now the labels seem to be dependent on line-of-sight, though the lighting toggle still seems to work once the labels have been "seen".

There is an option when adding text layers to specify whether lighting is applied to the text layer. Can you check whether that option is checked for those text layers? It's on by default.

Yes, I turn off the lighting for the labels so they will show up even when there are no lights. Toggling the lighting makes no difference.
The new issue seems to be that LOS blocks text, when it didn't before.

Just pushed a hot fix that Carl provided. Please run a new Check for Updates, and let us know if you still have any issues.
