Hey all!
Been a long path to get back to the point where I can do stuff like this again, but we are finally here! So with that said, let's take a look at the latest version of Dark Archives - the Remastered version.
Dark Archives brought with it two new classes: the Psychic and the Thaumaturge.
The Psychic being, of course, the master of mind; tapping into reserves of mental power that very few can unlock and even fewer can develop and master. It brings with it the ability to amplify magic by focusing those mental powers so that spells become more than they originally were. So a Telekinetic Projectile, a good solid cantrip to begin with, suddenly has more range and when amplified can even push creatures on crits plus does more damage when used by a Distant Grasp Psychic! Unleash, literally, the powers of the mind with Psychic.
The Thaumaturge goes in a different direction, finding hidden magic and unlocking esoteric powers from seemingly minor or simple items that others would discard or ignore. It could be a simple hand-held Bell that, when chimed, unsettles a foe that was acting hostilely or perhaps it's a Tome that you can dig into quickly and pull from it vital knowledge or skill training that can be the difference between failure and success.
Along with the two new archetypes associated with the two new classes, Dark Archives also offers a number of other new archetypes: from Alter Ego to Living Vessel and more. There is also 4 new backgrounds, over 200 new feats, new magic items, new spells, and even a new versatile heritage. And that doesn't even count the new options for Deviant Abilities, a new Witch Patron, and more. Plenty to unlock in Dark Archives.
Remastered
One thing I want to also bring with this remastered version of Dark Archives is more complete automation and ease of use with the features that come with it. I am doing my best to comb through and catch everything I can in there that has automation and ease of use possibilities. That doesn't mean I am going to catch it all, so if you come across something that either needs attention or that isn't working to satisfaction, please feel free to post what you find here. Even bring your suggestions on how you've gotten it to work for you so that others can benefit from your efforts!
That's not to say that everything is automatable or easy to find solutions for, but I will do my best :) And let's face it, Trenloe is constantly adding new features and automations to the PF2 ruleset, so who knows - maybe what was difficult or impossible before suddenly has a solution.
At any rate, for those getting Dark Archives (Remastered) through their previous purchase of Dark Archives or who have grabbed it for the first time with this version, I hope you enjoy! And always feel welcome to make comments, suggestions, and give feedback here!
