View Full Version : Script Errors on load

Hi all, My players and I are in the homerun stretch of Horror on the Orient Express. We are just getting ready to start the final chapter "The Fog Lifts" where I had my players start up modern characters. When they try they are getting a script Error (all of them):
"Script execution error: [String "CallOfCthulhu7E:../scripts/manager_char.lua"]:58: setValue: Unable to create node

I've removed all extensions I had in my extensions folder except the Theme*extensions and attached a screenshot of the error screen from one of my players. I've been unable to find the manager_char.lua file its referencing. Also players seem to get a new skill or 2 to load every time they reconnect.

Please help figure out how I can resolve this error and allow players to create chars again...

It's best to present your logs than a clip of the console. I could dig deeper if I had those. You would need to recreate the issue and then follow these steps:

Also, if you can break down the exact steps you and your players took so I can recreate it on my end as well.

Steps to reproduce:
open FG
open Character Selection window
Add Character (this triggers manager_char.lua error)
add occupation (triggers error with manager_actor2.lua - only about 4 skills populated)

Also FYI it appears that I (as keeper) can create characters without error. The problem only occurs when my players try to create objects themselves.

For the time being I would suggest the Host just create the character sheets and the players claim ownership of them. I'm not seeing errors when it's the host that creates the character sheets.

I've done a revamp of the skill list on the character sheet and other minor micro systems. This was to shore up the code in this location and help it from breaking further. Please hop onto the TEST server and copy over your campaign to test the characters with some players to ensure no data is lost and it's working as intended. Please report any issue here:
