Toast notification froze at the top of the screen

Hi :)

Yesterday we played and I used the toast notifications the first time for a longer session. After around 2~3 hours one of the toast notifications froze at the top of the screen and never vanished anymore. New notifications just appeared above it and vanished normally. That happened while playing Waterdeep Dragon Heist, on the map Xentharim Hideout (in the first chapter). I used extensions at that time but not sure if they would affect such things at all

The problem: I have no idea how to easily reproduce it except for playing a longer time, and there could of course be the possibility of my computer's relatively old hardware (?). The used graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, in case it matters :)

Sorry that I cannot really be of more help, but I thought I should still let you know. And maybe some other people had a similar experience :)

Thanks for the report. No idea why this would happen, since they should all expire according to the code. We'll have to keep an eye out for what might cause this.

Nope, not that, the monitor is also very new :) and when I minimized FG at that time, then the frozen notification also vanished from the screen, so it stayed inside FG (and once I opened FG again, it was still there)

(and I once had a monitor with screen burn; that usually looks rather weak at the beginning. In this case the notification was still very visible as if it just appeared, just didn't want to go away anymore :D)

If it happens again, what would you need from the player? I have a screenshot but nothing more. Didn't happen to me on the DM side (yet).

There is a setting to turn off notifications, rather at the top of the settings :) I also turned it off for now because the notifications on the map themselves are still on, and that is all I personally need :) (the map notifications also look way better than the toast ones :) )

In my game tonight one of the toasts also got stuck. It was stuck for me (DM) and all my players that have the toasts turned on.

Several of us had it happen in a game just now (2/7/26), with a bunch of messages after a fireball created many saves, so it's taking a big chunk of the screen with several failures. It's a one shot so I know we all checked for updates before play.

Have experienced this tonight when testing with a friend connected.

At some point, a notification gets stuck on his (client) screen, but not mine (host). Then toast notifications no longer appear for any action after that until we restart the session from the launcher.

FWIW, we had the new round toast message get stuck, for GM and the players. What happened was I accidentally clicked the next round button, causing it to skip from the middle of round 2 to the start of round 3. Then I manually changed the round number back to 2, and went back to the previously active character. The message never faded. I don't know if that jammed up the message timer or what. ��*♂️
