Nothing critical here.
Using /gmid to change your GM name disables the NPC Chat token/names and chat bubbles stop appearing when speaking as an NPC. Changing the name also stops chat messaging like room descriptions from the book/story entry.
Using /gmid to change the name back to GM restores the NPC tokens/names in the chat and story entry popups, but does not fix the chat bubbles not showing up anymore - either as an image or on map token for the NPC.
Using 5e rules, 2024 version. Using most current version of FGVTT (updated this morning).

This is working for me. You mentioned in Discord that you were using an extension; please try without the extension.
If not working after disabling extension, please let me know the steps you're following, so I can recreate.
If working after disabling extension, you'll need to reach out to extension developer as they are overriding base code.
Steps I followed:
* Start campaign
* Type /gmid DM
* Open PC that is already on a Map, and open the Map too
* Click on the PC Speak As button at the top of the window
* Enter chat message
* The message appeared in the chat window correctly; and in the Map window as well (using default setting)

Hey Moon,
This seems to be happening again - though slightly different. The only thing affected is that /gmid is not working. If you change your name, it continues to be just "GM" in the chat.
Not a biggie, just letting you know.

I can reproduce similar behavior when switching GM names mid session. Have you tried testing in a fresh world with all modules disabled and clearing the browser cache to rule out a residual setting?
Yeah, that’s why I reported it here - it’s not related to a loaded extension. Moon fixed this bug previously, when changing your name with /gmid was preventing the chat bubbles completely. This time around, it’s just the /gmid name change not working.
