Hello,
After yesterday's (1/20/26) update, FGU keeps crashing shortly after startup when using a battlemap from the LMOP module. I have the Tresendar manor battlemap up and added a couple redbrand thugs to combat tracker and map. One thing I notice and I'll try and attach a screenshot, is that even when the eyeball on combat tracker is set to reveal, the tokens for the NPC's on the map remain greyed out. Shortly after doing anything on the battlemap (usually within 2 to 5 minutes), FGU will lockup/crash. I've attached my compiled log file (I think). I tried several recommended solutions with no luck and tried with and without extensions. (The attached log file is with extensions included, but I tried several times with no extensions or themes, and the same error kept occuring). It does appear to only occur with specific battlemaps (at least in my limted testing). I tried with smiteworks included battlemap (outdoor 2), and could not recreate the error/crash.

Here is a list of thing's I've tried so far:
1) Disable all extensions and themes
2) Added FGU to exceptions list in my virus protection (Norton 360)
3) Updated Nvidia drivers
4) Downloaded lates Microsoft VC C++ stuff from website (both 86 and 64)

I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling FGU itself yet. I have FGU installed on a different and newer computer in an outbuilding where I play DnD in person and have not run the update for that yet. I can test and see, but as of yesterday, prior to update, everything was working ok out there as well as on this computer where I do more of the testing and creating of adventures and such.

That's about all I can think of for now. Thanks!

I believe this is being caused by FG running out of memory due to a memory leak or something similar. I just experienced this as well having left FGVTT open for a couple of hours. The memory use at the point of the error was up at the max available at the time.

The developers are aware.

Carl is still actively looking at any conditions like this. We pushed a hot fix about 3.5 hours ago that fixed at least some of them.

If you are still having an issue, please post a zipped up copy of your campaign folder, and let us know the name of the map you are opening when it happens.

Thanks,
JPG

Just pushed another hot fix that addresses an issue specifically with FX layers that could cause a memory leak.
Can you run a new Check for Updates; and let us know if you are still having issues?

Hi, after the recent update I am trying to load my campaign and as it loads it crashes mid-load, and the recent updates havent seemed to fix it. Is there anything I can do or do I just have to wait?

Can you zip up the campaign folder and put it on Dropbox or something similar and post a link here so the devs can take a look. Also make sure you are testing without extensions. You could also try closing FGVTT and then delete the CampaignRegistry.lua file inside the campaign folder and then start up your campaign to see if that helps. (Back up your campaign folder before you do any deleting of files).

Edit- deleting the .lua file did nothing

Thanks for a copy of your campaign. We have been narrowing down a similar issue as this for a couple other remaining reports. Carl is actively working on a fix, so we hope to get that out later today.
