I watched the video on reddit that presents the new features, this one specifically:

I will repeat here the feedback I wrote on reddit:

Generally speaking, I like the idea of the toaster notifications;, I definitely DON'T like how they end up covering the screen after a fireball, though, just as it does at the beginning of the video:

That's immersion breaking, annoying, and it's been regarded everywhere as Bad UI ever since "notification" was a concept in software.

Couldn't you guys figure out a way to coalesce multiple notifications into ONE, when that happens? Like, if more than 3 notifications happen simultaneously, instead of showing all of them show ONE expandable toaster notification with a summary of the content, and the details visible only if the user expands it? Or if there are multiple types of notifications, coalesce the ones that belong to the same type into one: using the example of the picture, it could have been replaced by two toaster notifications, one with a red border that says "Damages" as title, and the collapsible body would include a list "1- 24 points to Wolf; 2- 12 points to Goblin 1...", and one notification with a blue border that has title "Effects Added" and the collapsible body would include "1- unconscious to Goblin 1; 2- prone to Goblin 1; 3- unconscious to Goblin 2" etc

What is needed is the ability to move where these notifications pop up at. Right dab in the middle of the screen isn't ideal. Especially if you are streaming the game. Allow the player to be able to move the top starting point of these notifications to another place on their screen. It would also be helpful if the player could control the amount of time these stay visible before fading/scrolling away. Just some thoughts.

Huh, I never knew that (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop-up_notification) was the industry term for those on non-mobile systems. (https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/notifiers/toasts)

I've added a feature request if anyone else wants to support the idea that a flood of notifications that cover the screen when casting a fireball over three puny goblins means that the design needs some rethinking.

While I personally don't think grouping them together into something expandable is the best move, I agree with the general issue of blocking and flooding the entire screen. Expandable grouping works fine for notifications that stay on the screen for a long time, but with the duration those are shown, you would have to be really fast to click and expand them...
Getting more control over position and placing would be great already. Possibly limiting the amount of notifications shown at once as well, maybe with a queue to show the next ones when the first ones disappear. My worry there would be, that it might take a long time to go through a bigger list of notifications, which might be annoying.
Another thing that might help is an option to filter which notifications should be shown (saves, damage, added effects...)

We have something in the works for this.
