I created a module for 5E and I have updated the original campaign I created it in. I have tried exporting it and it does not update the module in my current campaign. What do I need to know?

Try revert changes on the module in your current campaign.

When I used revert it went to an older version and I lost about 2 hours of work.

See the duplicate thread for some suggestions; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?86576-Need-help-exporting-a-home-made-5E-module
Sounds like you are mixing where you are making changes. You need to manage (create and update) everything in one place. If you modify module content in a campaign those updates ONLY live in that campaign and can NOT be save to the module (without complicated manually editing of xml files outside of FG).
Use a development campaign.
Export to a module.
Never make changes to module content in a campaign unless you are willing to lose it or are very careful.
Be very aware of the edited/modified icon on module content and the impact of Reverting.
Make all updates in the development campaign, which will require you to re-export before using in your play campaign.
