I see both of these PAK files in the \rulesets folder. If I rename either and do an update, a new PAK file is downloaded. The only other rulesest I have that has 2 PAK files is Pathfinder 2e, but that's due to the Wizards of the Coast licenscing fiascal and one of those PAK files has "Legacy" in its name.

So I'm wondering why there's 2 PAK files for Dungeon Crawl Classics in \rulesets?

DCC is layered on top of GGDCCRULESET - you can see the DCC.pak file size is quite small by comparison. This is to allow base code to cover multiple similar rulesets (e.g. DCC and MCC). This is done for other similar situations - PFRPG on top of 3.5E, SFRPG2 on top of PFRPG2, for example.

Thanks for the reply Trenloe.
I don't own MCC so I wasn't considering it, but that their specific ruleset PAKs both build upon GGDCCRULESET makes perfect sense.
