Hello all!
I’ve been building out my campaign for sometime now, and I figured there’s no better way to introduce it than through the mystery the cities True Name. Dark City works as a placeholder, but sooner or later, the real name — and its power — will reveal itself.
I hope this first chapter brings you as much joy at the table as it did in the making. Enjoy, and have fun wherever your own worlds take you. I also would like everyone to know that being that I am no artist and the battle-map of FGU causes me issues. I hope you can work with the generated maps I have provided here. Moving on now....
The Premise
Every city hides secrets. This one has a name that should never be spoken. A cult known as the Whisperers of the Unnamed has uncovered fragments of the city’s True Name — a word of power capable of reshaping reality. Their leader, the enigmatic Name Whisperer, is close to speaking the final syllable.
Meanwhile, Brother Aldous of the Order of Silent Truths has vanished during his investigation. Now catatonic victims shuffle through the alleys, and the city’s nights echo with impossible whispers.
Your heroes must follow Aldous’ final trail before the Name is spoken… or before the city itself begins to unravel.

Shadows cling to him like hounds awaiting command. He is not simply a cult leader — he is the first mortal to come close to uttering a word no mind was meant to hold.

The True Name is Part 1 of The Forbidden Words Saga.
The final events of this module ripple straight into Part 2, where the consequences of Vane’s failure—or success—begin to reshape the Dark City’s underworld, its politics, and eventually its very foundations. (And I am very much still getting the intregue of it all in place..)
