Ikael made something like this a long time ago.

Ikael's Module Maker is targetted at larger modules and uses M3L to handle more complex structures. While my Markdown Converter is targetted at standard markdown and smaller pieces of work like simple story entires within FG. My workflow has been to develop a text adventure using AI, format it as markdown, cut and paste it into a .md file on my local file system, edit it some more, and then cut and paste into FG. Just providing this info so the users can pick whichever type of workflow suites them.

Getting this error when trying to convert the markdown.

The 'i' start tag on line 1 position 990 does not match the end tag of 'td'. Line 1, position 1039.

Could you post the markdown you are trying to convert? Thanks.

Here is the markup, I also tried just a couple lines and still get the same error even on simple stuff.

### Tuskwater Exploration Encounters (Level 4, 5 PCs)

These encounters are designed for a post-Stag Lord Tuskwater hex crawl—focusing on swamps, lake shores, foggy islands, and dense woods. They're balanced for **Medium to Hard** difficulty (total adjusted XP ~1,000–2,000) using D&D 2024 rules, with a mix of combat, roleplay, and exploration. Roll a d20 or use hex features to trigger (e.g., 15+ on swamp travel). Each includes terrain, setup, resolution options, and rewards/hooks.

| # | Terrain | Description | Challenge (2024 Stats) | Rewards/Hook |
|---|---------|-------------|-------------------------|--------------|
| 1 | Swampy Lake Shore | The PCs hear croaking and splashing as they skirt a muddy inlet. Six **giant frogs** (CR 1/4, 50 XP each) leap from the reeds, drawn by vibrations—perfect ambush with tongues pulling PCs into melee. | Combat: 300 XP base (×2.5 mult. for 6 monsters = ~1,500 adj. XP, Hard). Frogs use *Pull* to drag into water (difficult terrain). | 100 gp in swallowed loot (coins, gems). Hook: Frog stomachs hold a nixie locket—wearing it summons a grateful water fey for a minor boon (e.g., *water breathing* 1/day). |
| 2 | Foggy Island | Ethereal singing echoes from a rocky outcrop. Two **harpies** (CR 1, 200 XP each) perch above, luring travelers to dash on jagged rocks below (DC 13 Athletics/Acrobatics or 2d6 falling dmg + prone). | Combat/Social: 400 XP base (×2 mult. = ~1,600 adj. XP, Hard). Harpies flee if half HP, dropping song-enchanted lyre. Roleplay: DC 15 Wis save vs. *charm* to resist joining their "choir." | Lyre (uncommon magic: plays *healing word* 1/day). Hook: Captured settler (Oleg's trader) reveals bandit holdout maps in Dunsward. |
| 3 | Overgrown Fey Glade | Twinkling lights lead to a circle of toadstools. Four **pixies** (CR 1/4, 50 XP each, invisible/resistant) play pranks—*polymorphing* gear into frogs, sleep gas, etc. They're bored fey testing "worthy" explorers. | Exploration/Social: Non-lethal (pixies flee combat). DC 14 Int (Nature/Arcana) to spot tricks; DC 16 Cha (Persuasion/Deception) to join game and win boon. Combat fallback: 200 XP (~1,000 adj., Medium). | Fey dust (3 uses: *invisibility* or *levitate*). Hook: Pixies gift "shortcut" path to hidden Tuskwater shrine (kingdom stability +1). |
| 4 | Sunken Logjam | A half-submerged raft blocks a channel, rigged with vines. Investigating triggers 2 **giant constrictor snakes** (CR 2, 450 XP each) and 4 **swarm of insects** (CR 1/2, 100 XP each) from hollow logs—venomous guardians of a forgotten cache. | Combat: 1,100 XP base (×1.5 mult. = ~2,000 adj. XP, Deadly but environmental aids). Water slows snakes; fire vuln. on swarms. | 250 gp treasure (potions: *water breathing*, *antidote*). Hook: Raft holds journal from Stag Lord's "ghost"—clues to haunted fort in next hex. |
| 5 | Misty Woodland Trail | A desperate **satyr** (CR 1/2, 100 XP) and 3 **wolves** (CR 1/4, 50 XP each) burst from bushes, fleeing a pursuing **shambling mound** (CR 5, 3,500 XP—solo Deadly, but weakened). Satyr begs aid. | Mixed Combat: Mound at 50 HP (1,750 XP base, ×1.5 w/ minions = ~1,900 adj. XP, Hard). Lightning feeds it; fire/bludgeoning vuln. Social: Aid satyr for alliance. | Satyr's panpipes (*charm person* 3/day). Hook: Grateful satyr offers fey scout services for kingdom (spy on boggards) or leads to herbalist's hut (+1 Economy event). |

**DM Tips**: Adjust for party comp (e.g., add 1-2 minions if martial-heavy). Use 2024 monster tweaks (e.g., harpies have *Lure* as bonus action). For non-combat resolution, award half XP. These tie into Kingmaker progression: fey for Oath of the Crown hooks, loot for building funds. Roll d6 for variety or chain 2-3 in a hex! Need stat blocks, maps, or more?

Did you ever get this to work? I am using a different Markdown converter and I was able to import your sample. I am curious how the two are different.

I didn't have any trouble converting your sample markdown. It is possible whatever file you are editing has a problem with an html tag before trying to convert the markdown. Are you able to, for example, cut and paste that markdown into a new story entry and then convert that?
