From https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/996642031/5E+Effects+for+Advanced+Automation it has examples for Regeneration. I'm specifically looking at "Death only on zero hit points The <creature name> regains x hit points at the start of its turn. (If the <creature name> takes <type> damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of the creature’s next turn). The <creature name> dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate."

Testing this out in FGU (5e), if I inflict fire damage to a troll and drop it to 0 hit points, it will skip the Regen effect for a turn. However, upon the next round it starts regenerating again instead of dying. Is FGU supposed to be smart enough to convert the monster to dead at this point?

This is working for me.

If the Troll takes no acid or fire damage but is reduced to zero hit points it goes unconscious and prone. It then correctly heals 15 hit points at the start of it's next turn. However if it takes fire damage it's knocked unconscious; it's regen capability is halted and it doesn't recover any hit points in subsequent turns.

Is there maybe some weird set of circumstances that this doesn't happen that I'm not seeing or are you maybe using extensions which might be interfering? Can you replicated in a new campaign without extensions?

EDIT: note test was using the 2024 Troll but that shouldn't make any difference.

Actually, with a clean campaign (no mods, no extensions) after the troll is reduced to 0 hit points by fire, it doesn't regenerate ever. It also doesn't die. It just keeps the effect on skip no matter how many rounds I roll through. So, that's a different issue as well. Please see attached.

My expectation is that FGU would see that it didn't regenerate and having 0 hit points remaining it would convert from Unconscious to Dead.

There is no dead state. The time a NPC is "dead" or removable, is when the delete button appears. This shows when the actor is considered "dead".

Should the REGEN effect then not be set to SKIP but instead to OFF?

As Superteddy says once the delete icon appears the expectation is that you (as DM) delete the dead character from the CT. If you don't (and this applies to any NPC) they'll hang around the CT until they are finally removed. Any dead characters will still get a 'turn' unless you enable the skip dead non-ally option in options.

Fair enough. Thanks for the feedback.
