The Dark City – Campaign Setting (v12.7)
Hi,
Thanks for taking a moment to look this over — been a while since the last update and this one's a big one!
Forge Link: https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/2727/view
What's New in v12.7
Biggest change: file size dropped from 155MB to 26MB (83% smaller!) without losing any content. All images optimized for faster loading, new cover art, and the thumbnail finally shows up properly in the module list.
What's Inside
30 Classes & Archetypes (full 1–20 progressions)
Scholars, Mercenaries, Witch Hunters, Hedge Wizards, Inquisitors, Alchemist Savants, Assassins, Beast Handlers, Bounty Hunters, Duelists, Engineers, Plague Doctors, War Priests, Cutthroats, Ratcatchers, Street Performers, Grave Wardens, and more.
6 Playable Races
Human, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Halfling, and Ogre — each with Dark City-specific traits and lore. (something normal but slightly different cause of creation stories and the like)
24 NPCs (with portrait artwork)
Mother Griselle, One-Eyed Pete, Vera Goldweaver, High Inquisitor Mordain, Librarian Corvus, Lord Mayor Aldric Thornfield, Guildmaster Thorek Ironforge, High Priestess Seraphina, and many more.
34 Monsters (with artwork)
Urban horrors, industrial spirits, Underdeep nightmares, and carnival terrors. Alley Stranglers, Gutter Crawlers, Plague Doctor Revenants, Forge Primordials, Debt Lords, Clockwork Enforcers, Sewer Kings, and the Depth-Born Sovereign.
37 Location Images
Every major location across all six districts now has artwork — from the Grand Cathedral to the Underdeep Fungal Gardens.
23 Vehicles (Land, Water, Air & Specialty)
War Wagons, Armored Coaches, Gnomish Ornithopters, Merchant Airships, Diving Bells, Steam Carriages, Noble Palanquins — all with AC, HP, cost, and capacity.
6 Districts (With full descriptions to help anyone out)
High District, Gown District, Guild District, Low District, Temple District, and the Underdeep. Each with history, atmosphere, NPCs, and hooks.
Custom spells, feats, and magic items
Compatible With
5E • CoreRPG (works with most rulesets) • Pathfinder(s)
The Setting at a Glance
A City Built on Shadows
The Dark City is an industrial metropolis of soot-blackened towers, corrupt guilds, and alleys where the light rarely reaches. Wealthy nobles dine behind iron-barred gates while the poor crowd into crumbling river tenements.
Guild Wars & Hidden Agendas
Guildmasters feud through assassins, smuggling rings, and "accidental" factory fires. Every deal below a tavern table has at least two hidden clauses.
The Underdeep
A sprawling maze beneath the streets — collapsed ruins, forgotten tunnels, and ancient things that remember the city's true name.
Module Stats
File Size: 26 MB (optimized!)
Version: 12.7
FGU Compatible: Fully
If you're looking for a gritty, urban sandbox with ready-to-run content, custom classes, unique races, and enough lore to keep a group exploring for months — give it a look. Happy to answer any questions. Check out more https://darkcityforge.com
