creating homebrew weapons

I saw a homebrew weapon I would like to put in my campaign. Can't create it using forge in items. Is there another way to create weapons?

Create a new item from the Item list. Fill out the fields and done. Automation may or may not work, depending up on the ruleset and the features of the item.
