I just bought the module "DM Module Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft" and I found a issue.

There are two modules (Player and DM), the species (races) only load when I load the Player module. The DM Module doesn't load the new species from supplement.

This is intentional or is a error? The DM is supposed to load player module beyond the dm module? I never load the player's module in any game to avoid duplication from classes, spells, feats, etc.

Attach my prints with two situations: with and without the player loaded.

Obs: I didn't found a thread about Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft Module in the forum.

Thx!

Player data only load with the player's module and the GM module will contain all data pertaining to the DM. So the player's module will need to be loaded if the GM wants to see that data. This is to eliminate duplication.

Thanks for this clarification teddy! I got some old modules that duplicate when I load the player module.

I will load both then!

If you are seeing any duplication due to data being in both GM and Player module, please report that to the ruleset specific bug report thread to get them looked at and fixed as what I described is standard and want to ensure data doesn't get duplicated like that.

Indeed. In older modules the player data was duplicated in both the DM and player modules but this practice was ended some years ago. In some cases we went back and undid some of this (sub classes and sub species mostly) when the 2024 rules appeared but in other cases that has not been possible. Removing stuff like this will have the effect of breaking any characters built using the books where the data is, so removing the data isn't on the cards.
