View Full Version : Issue with Keep on the Borderlands module + OSE ruleset — no monster stats in Combat

Hi everyone,
I’m using the official Keep on the Borderlands module purchased from the FG store, and I’d like to use it together with the OSE ruleset I bought on The Forge.
However, when I drag an encounter from the module into the Combat Tracker, the monster stats don’t appear — for example, as shown in the attached image, the attack details are missing.
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Is there a compatibility issue between the module and the OSE ruleset, or am I missing a setup step?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Probably that’s the issue.
This product was originally written for Basic D&D. This conversion is for the AD&D 2E system and ruleset. Keep that in mind when evaluating the original text included in this adventure mentioning various rules and books that are not necessary for the AD&D gamesystem.
So it looks like the module is actually built for AD&D 2E, not OSE.
Do you have any idea how I could fix this and use the module with OSE?

Try this (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/321/view). I don't have any experience with OSE or this extension, but it was listed by the same dev that turned out the OSE ruleset for FGU, and I hope it works well for you.

I don't have any experience with OSE, either, but it looks like the extension is no longer needed as it's built into the ruleset. Watch the video linked in the extension description: YT (https://youtu.be/28WF7LfnC3M) for how it supposedly works

It appears you still need the extension - I don't see the Gnome icon without the extension. @Zar - as suggested by @Doomsword watch the video and if you don't have the Gnome icon in your ruleset, load up the extension.

Thanks, Ternloe, for the correction. Should have tested. I suppose I misunderstood the text on the extension...

No worries. I thought the same as you.
