View Full Version : I have lost my Dice Tower

So, one thing I hate (absolutely HATE) about FG, is when it's in full-screen mode, and I have everything set-up the way I like it...then there is an accidental or errant click on the bar at the top....then all of the locked placements of the items I had in place have gotten all jumbled up. This last time, I found everything but my dice tower. I have tried turning on and off the dice tower, and I still I cannot find it. Is there a way to go into some XML file somewhere to reset the location?

(as far as troublshooting, I've taken everything off my desktop that I could, I've moved the chat from one side of the screen to the other as well as looked under the player portraits at the top, as well as under the menu on the far right. Still cannot find it -- it's as if it's gone outside the bounds of my screen....

Thank you in advance for any assistance that can be provided.....if only things didn't lose their anchor spot when the app window gets moved for whatever reason....

Open up your FGData folder (Click on the folder icon top left of the start screen to get to the folder). Open up Campaigns and then open the folder with your campaign name on it. Delete the file windowstate.xml and then start up your campaign.

Thanks Zacchaeus!!! So that will delete the windowed location/state of everything and I can then get things back the way I want them! :)

I haven't tried it, but you can try just deleting the one line that starts:
<window data="" class="dicetower"

Once you have everything set up as you like, make a backup copy of windowstate.xml.
Next time the accidental window resize ruins your setup, close the session, delete windowstate.xml, copy the backup and name it windowstate.xml, then restart the session.

Welp, I deleted Windowstate.xml -- and I still don't have my dice tower. I went into options, turned the Dice Tower off. Closed FG, deleted windowstate.xml again, restarted, changed the option to show Dice Tower and it's no where to be seen (and yes, I've moeve everything on the screen after unlocking and have minimized my menu on the far right as best as it will go)....still no Dice Tower. *sigh* Now what?

There are two options that need to be on for the DM to see the dice tower. Both Die Tower On and Show GM Rolls On. If Show GM rolls is off, then only the players will see the dice tower. Is Show GM rolls on?

I tried this just now and it didn't work (not sure how show GM rolls was off in the first place)...will del the .xml and try again --- having a 34" UltraWide monitor, you'd think I'd find it SOMEWHERE....lol

Another possibility is that an extension is interfering. Can you test in a new campaign without extensions to make sure that your Dice Tower is actually appearing at all when DM rolls is on and Show Dice tower is on. I just tested this and when the windowstate file is deleted the dice tower comes back to its original position; so if that isn't happening for you then something else is interfering.

Actually, I went disabled a couple extensions (one of which was the Player's Character Sheet Dice Tower), deleted the windowstate.xml again, and when I made it to the FG desktop, turned on Dice Tower and it showed up all the way to the right, partially over-top the right side menu, but I have it back now. Thanks to you all for your help.
