Hello

I need a bit advice. I am starting a new campaign set in my own homebrewed world so adding some new species for 2024 Dungeons and Dragons. When I select a species I get options of basic standard languages to choose from. I can't see where I can edit this list to add my own languages. I would like my players to have access to more languages on creation of their characters

Can someone help

Thanks

Carrie

You would need to write an extension to add the languages to the campaign.

Ahh ok, thanks for letting me know. My personal extension writer thought that might be the case but apparently he can't be bothered to help

Sighs

Yeah, but that doesn't make them appear for the character to select at creation. And she's right, I'm not writing that extension :P

Heya

Yeah I did that already. I added my new languages there but it doesn't change what a player can choose when they select a species in D&D 2024. The list available to players only includes a few languages. I guess this is the standard rules for D&D 2024. It doesn't work for me because for example it includes Dwarvish and I don't have any dwarfs in my campaign. I'm Scottish I refuse to have dwarves. :P

But thank you for replying. I'll just get my players to ignore that selection prompt.

Thanks

Carrie

If you are using the character wizard it pulls from that list. The list isn't hard coded in the ruleset.

That's probably my problem then. As I group of players we have never used the character wizard. We just drag and drop stuff into character sheets.

But thanks for taking the time to let me know

Thanks
