View Full Version : Art/Craft (Specialisation) not recognised as Occupation Skill & Investigator Handbook

I've noticed a couple of issues with the Call of Cthulhu 7E ruleset and the Investigator Handbook module that I wanted to bring to your attention.

Issue:

The skill Art/Craft (Specialisation) is not transferred correctly to the character sheet as an Occupation Skill. This does not seem to occur with other skill types that have specialisations (e.g. Science or Firearms), although I haven't tested them all.

Analysis:

This could be addressed either in the ruleset or directly within the Investigator Handbook module.

In the XML files, the following entry does not work as expected:
<skill type="string">Art/Craft (Photography)</skill>

However, this structure does work:
<skill type="string">Art/Craft</skill>
<sublabel type="string">Painting</sublabel>

Incorrect skill assignment in Investigator Handbook:

Within the Investigator Handbook, the Artist occupation has the Appraise skill assigned instead of Art/Craft.

Suggestions for ruleset improvement:

Display the degree of success when rolling NPC skills (currently only shown for attack rolls).
Add a shortcut or additional blood droplet option for impaling weapons that Keepers can use for NPCs. Currently, all NPC attacks appear to be treated as non-impaling.

I hope this feedback helps improve the overall ruleset experience.
