Hi Brains Trust

A character in my game is using a weapon they are not proficient with.
Is there an effects code that will impose DISATK on just that weapon?

Thanks

Being non proficient with a weapon just removes the use of the proficiency bonus on the attack roll, not DIS. You can toggle proficiency by clicking on the weapon details and toggling the star button.

I’m assuming you are talking about 5E.

You are correct. Thanks
I read the paragraph in this module wrong. It talks about weapons and armour, and then mentions the disadvantages without really distinguishing that it's just for armour.
All is well!

But if I did want to impose disadvantage on one weapon, is there a code for that?

Assuming 5E, then the effect is: DISATK

But DISATK won't apply to only the one weapon. You would have to enable and disable it as they use different attacks/weapons.
