View Full Version : Best FG native system for Conan/low fantasy setting?

Any good RPG systems on Fantasy Grounds for a Conan campaign? Something with a brutal and fast combat system, and (at least) basic rules for low fantasy magic. I have a ton of Conan 2d20 books so I got background and campaigns covered, just need a good system which works well with FG.

We don't like the 2d20 Conan system for many reasons, but looove CoC 6/7E. Runequest time-to-die might be a bit too short for Conan.

Claude Opus says Savage Worlds and Lemuria are the best options with BRP as another option, any human thoughts on those? Or others? The One Ring I recall considered a good system?

Both of these would be great, Barbarians of Lemuria is pretty much Conan renamed, as is the Savage Worlds Beasts & Barbarians setting: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/?search=beasts+%26+barbarians&pagesize=20&minDiscount=&hidecore=0

RuneQuest characters don't survive for long without healing magic, and this is not Conan-esque.

Mythras is the most Conan-esque variant of d100, with survivability based on luck points and not magic, but it doesn't exist for FG I think. You can try my ruleset Revolution D100 which is explicitly based on Mythras, it's free on the Forge, but it is more high fantasy than Conan.

Aside from that, BoL and SW do Conan well with a one-roll combat model.

Thanks, both. From further reading SW seems to fit quite well, we'll try it out!

Beasts and Barbarians for Savage Worlds is an excellent Conan style setting.
