How well do 1E modules port into 2E ruleset?

Same question as the title. With the current seasonal sale, I'm considering getting the triad of rulebooks for 2E (PHB, DMG, & MM). But I want to run a 1E module in the 2E ruleset. Let's use the Temple of Elemental Evil as an example. Will it port well?

They are all written for the 2E ruleset. Depending on the person who did the conversion, the npc balance might vary. i.e. dragons/devils/giants in 2e are much more powerful than 1e.
