View Full Version : How do I add my Own Character Type for the Add Zero Character Selection Window?

When I use the Add Zero wizard for creating a level 0 PC, I get a pop-up window asking me what character type to select. Since I've bought very little DLC, I only have a checkbox for "DCC RPG."

I have adapted a setting to DCC for which I have created different Classes, different random Occupations, alternate piece of starting Equipment and alternate starting Weapon. There's also a random foundation/background roll that's in addition to the birth augur and lucky roll, but I don't expect to be able to automate that into the Add Zero feature. I would however, really like my altenate setting to be available for the Add Zero character creator.

So..I'm wondering what I need to do to make my setting available as a checkbox in the Character Type window?

The automated functions only work with the core rules content that you own. Custom content cannot be integrated into the Add Zero button. You need to build a character manually starting with a blank character sheet.

OK np - thanks for the reply. I asked because I like to automate as much as possible, especially when the process is as repetitive as rolling up a Level zero PC. I'd use the DCC Add Zero feature and edit the appropriate fields, if it weren't for a setting-specific class I have that's a race. That race has beginnings/foundations in certain Occupations, so I can really only roll it up with my custom Occupations table. I did delve into the DCC RPG.PAK and figured out how I could write an extension to change the currency defaults on the Inventory tab, which are very different in the setting. So I'm happy with that. :D
