LFP: Looking for 3-4 Players, LF Tuesday Night 5e 2024 Campaign.
FG License: Full Versions.
Time Zone: Pacific Time USA
Day and time: Tuesday 5pm-7:30pm PST, Weekly (likely to begin in mid-October 2025)
Term: Sandbox City or Urban Campaign built around the Western Sword Coast and Waterdeep the City of Splendors specifically, at least to begin with.
Voice: Discord (Kangor#)
Game System Preferred: D&D 5E 2024 with backwards compatible products allowed. No 3rd Party Material Allowed. I have only a couple house rules, but they are more quality of life House Rules or clarification of rules.
Game System Experience: Extensive knowledge of D&D and Forgotten Realms, but players don't have to be.
Fantasy Grounds Experience: Well versed in Fantasy Grounds and it's interface, but players don't have to be.
Character Type Preferred: No limitations as long as it is D&D Core Products (PHB, Tasha, Xanathar, Spelljammer, Sword Coast Adventure Guide etc). All Characters will be built from 2024 PHB for base class. Multiclass will be allowed on a character-by-character basis at creation and general multiclassing "unlocks" for all characters at 8th Level. Any non-2024-updated Subclasses will be adjusted based on the only 3rd Party Book I draw from: Subclasses Revivified. It is important to me the character you are playing matches your expectations. I allow all characters to be adjusted/revised prior to 5th Level. If a subclass/class/species/background/feat/etc isn't matching what you anticipated, we will work to adjust your character. It is important your character matches your expectations. Characters ability Scores are generated openly with a DM Devised system that allows for unique stat builds, which in turn creates unique character builds. Min-Maxing is frowned upon, in fact playing a sub-optimal stat builds will often provide DM Enhancements such as, bonus items, bonus xp, bonus rumors, character story perks. ALL Characters are required to have a backstory of a few sentences. It can be as detailed as you want and should be your characters early years prior to, or around the time you started to adventure. The more backstory, the more your character can be integrated into the storyline. Once you give me something to work with I will add to it, typically this encompasses "What you have been up to the past year or so...". In case I haven't made it clear this is a permissive campaign, the rules are important, but the story is more important. If you can tell me why you think X should work a certain way, I will be open to hearing you and will rarely say "The rules say X occurs like this, not what you think." This sets poor feelings and I want there to be good feelings in my games.
Player Type Preferred: Creative players are preferred. You can RP as much or as little as you are comfortable with. You can craft items, spells, etc, or buy your gear off the shelf. You can be an old skool player, a former DM, or a new player. I enjoy you all. I refrain as much as possible from referring to RL pop-culture or examples in my game. You will almost never hear me say "The orc pulls back a massive bow...you know like from that scene in Lord of the Rings". This break the game immersion. I can always do better and I hope my players will follow suit.
About Me: I am a Gen-X'r, and most my games have been with RL friends I have known for ages. I have been playing since 1980's and I have owned comic book and game stores in a few countries, so I have deep nerd-cred. I am looking to expand this group of players and friends. I run a couple other games during the week/month and have a group of RL friends who also run other games. If you are a good fit you may find many other game opportunities. We tend to bust on each other, but always expect the same in return, so please don't be easily offended and know that I will never bully a player or put your ideas down, nor will I allow this at my games. Politics and RL is kept off the table, but sometimes the game may mirror life in some areas. Gender is your own and playing characters with different genders is just as fine. I tend to steer clear of sexually explicit or on-screen character romance. If you are trying to sleep with every bartender or bar maid then it can be done "offscreen" unless it drives the plot of your character and we will take it case by case.
