Setting: Canon Forgotten Realms
Method: 3 hour Synchronous voice with choice of Fantasy Grounds VTT or Theater of the Mind (DM drives FG for you).
Frequency: West Marches Monthly with bi-weekly upon request.
Genre: Urban Fantasy, Mystery, Political Intrigue, High Fantasy. (Game of Thrones meets Sherlock Holmes)
Focus: Prequels, parallel stories, and sequels to official realms events as told, not from view of the heroes, but those in the shadows assisting or scapegoating them.
Price: $40 per admission ticket. You receive access for live Actual Play and short story (1000-7500 words) Replay as told by the bards of the Realms to memorialize your deeds.
Background: The year is 1486 DR, the Thayan rebellion has exiled Szass Tam and the liches ruling Thay (Dead In Thay/Tales From The Yawning Portal). Zulkir Syranna begins the task of rebuilding relations with nations across Faerūn and setting Thay on a new course. The guild has heard rumors the Cult of the Dragon is searching the Unapproachable East for artifacts of immense power. Sellswords are contracted to investigate and retrieve these artifacts before the cult can acquire them.
We have a campaign wiki with over 200 entries for our custom locations and people of the realms. In addition to standard D&D mechanics we bring Power of Faerūn to the table where you can carve your own fiefdom, own your own business, or build temples to your deity. Factions and orders play heavily into the plot. Play as a Harper Agent, Thayan rebellion member, and continue Thay’s journey away from the darkness, or choose the path of balance with the Emerald Enclave, or a Szass Tam loyalist who is out to secretly sabotage the other PCs, or grudgingly leave your home of Zhentil Keep and assist the rebellion only to a point because a weakened Thay, no matter who is in charge, is good for Zhenthil Keep. Pick any faction or order and make your mark on the Realms. Good or Evil. Law or Chaos. It’s time to seize your destiny and power in the Realms.

What is West Marches?
West Marches does not occur on a recurring schedule. Participants agree on a time that works for them on a case by case basis. They then approach the DM with their availability. Once consensus is reached the schedule becomes official. We have participants in CEST and EST at present.
How canon is this campaign?
Your DM is a Legend of the Realms member of Ed Greenwood's community and has access to monthly video calls with Mr. Greenwood himself to ask lore questions. We regularly rewrite our outlines and drafts to conform our version of the world to that of its creator.
