I don't know when this occurred, but the "Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (SWADE) - Player" and possibly the GM are not properly loading.

When the modules are loaded, everything looks normal.

But a lot of the items, skills, and edges are missing.

There will be an entry for them, but when you go to open it it opens as a "New Item" or "New Skill" which is uneditable (per core entries) and it won't drag & drop into a character sheet.

Deluxe edition entries do not seem to be affected.

I am not seeing this. Can you give a specific example of a skill or item that's not working?

I believe a lot of the SW stuff got updates to work with the recent CoreRPG changes. If you've made any edits to the modules, you may need to right-click and select Revert Changes for those updates to be reflected.

I have used the SWADE modules before, and there used to be entries.

For instance, if I click on "Light Leather Jacket" from the SWADE Player module it opens a window panel that says, " << New Item >>" and the entry is empty.

If I click "Leather Leggings" from the Fantasy Companioin module, it opens normally.

I have unloaded and loaded the module several times. I have restart my device and FG several time.

Is this happening in a current campaign that was working fine previously?
Do you see this same behavior in a new campaign?
Are you running any extensions?
Did you do anything to override anything in the module? (i.e. do any of the entries have the revert button?)
Do you have any unzipped SWADE folders anywhere?
Do you have duplicates of the mods in the rulesets or modules folders?
When did this start happening, roughly?

It's happening in a new campaign.

But I can also confirm that it's happening in a campaign that used to work.

I do have some extensions enabled... that's a good thought. ... I tried disabling all extensions, and I still get the same result.

None of the entries has a revert button. I haven't zipped or unzipped any folders in FG.

I can confirm I have a MOD file called "Savage Worlds Assets" and well as a PAK file called "SavageWorlds".

I don't see any duplicate files in the modules of rulesets folder.

I just noticed it, as I was trying to build a new Achtung! Cthulhu-style campaign, converted to SWADE. As I was building characters, the Adventure Edition skills and items wouldn't drag and drop.

When I try to open the Reference Book which I had hot-keyed, no longer displays. (image attached) It would have displayed when I first created the campaign a week or two ago, which means this started happening within the last 4 weeks.

When I try to open entries directly from the SWADE Adventure Edition module, one of the tables is from the Deluxe Edition. (image attached)65447

Light Leather Jacket form the SWADE - Player module works fine for me.

Try deleting the swade_pg.mod file from the <FG app data>\modules directory and then run an update.

I deleted the swade_pg.mod file from the modules folder and ran an update.

Still getting the problem.

I think I stumbled upon a solution... I unloaded the Savage World Deluxe edition module... and now I seem to have my adventure edition entries back.

Some kind of link conflict between the modules perhaps?

One remaining (minor) issue is that my old hot key link to open up the players reference book says "book index not found" but if I go into the module, I can open it up like normal.

I'll just replace the hot key link with the new link and call it a day.

I reloaded the Deluxe Savage Worlds and the problem came back, but unloading it solved it again.

So I guess for now, I'll just not have Deluxe loaded.

Yeah. Deluxe is not meant to be used in Adventure Edition.

It was previously never a problem to have both Adventure Edition and Deluxe edition loaded together.

Each entry was labeled with its module source, and the deluxe edition had a few entries that the Adventure edition did not, so there was some benefit to having both loaded, so that entries could be compared.

But overall, I prefer the updates and entries in Adventure Edition, so it's not a problem to have the Deluxe module unloaded.

Adventure Edition and Deluxe edition not the same ruleset. They have NEVER been compatible. FG uses ruleset laying so developers don't reinvent the wheel in all rulesets. In the ruleset code Deluxe edition layers on top of Adventure Edition. You pick the rule set when campaign created, and it can't be changed.

Modules are another story thanks to that handy layering of code and identical record names in core rules modules. They are mostly compatible. You can't have both core rules modules loaded. Core rules are not the same and PEG published a general conversion guide and setting specific conversion notes. Where they exist, they are already in FG. So many products have two modules. One for SWD and another for SWADE. So apart from core rules everthing else should be fine.

Most people will never encounter an problem thanks to the pattern of issuing dual modules whilst everyone adopted the new rule set. There a few places where legal issues prevented PEG for printing change notes. Or where PEG wanted to reboot a whole line of new books. Or Ace License holders did not want to do them. So there is some SWD books out there that don't have a SWADE conversion module included.

You can usually get away with loading a SWD setting or adventure into SWADE. If you load a SWD module into the SWADE ruleset magic will happen and it will play almost 99% perfectly. If you click a link a link that asks you to load Deluxe edition don't do it. That is a broken link. That is a record that is now obsolete in SWADE rules. Instead replace that with proper value from SWADE core rules module.

These days everything is done SWADE only. It is rare to be asked for a new SWD book module. If that happens original text is changed to match SWADE and FG gets a special version, you can’t buy anywhere else.

Changes were made in CoreRPG that affected all rulesets and modules / books. The Savage Worlds core books were updated based on those changes.
This is why your hot bar link stopped working and why SWD and SWADE modules don't play nicely together anymore.
All the setting modules were also updated, so make sure you have the latest versions of everything, and revert changes on all modules to prevent problems.

No it is just broken dependency links created by user error. Try to load just the SWADE GM guide on its own and run CC to understand this. This has nothing to do with ruleset code change. It just impossible to link to information that does not exist. Worst where there is double player guide searching by name means double matches. I need to teach to make m3l modules sometime.

Users can load SWD adventure modules into SWADE just fine. It just the rule modules they can't screw around with. If they really worried a CC report will quickly find problems.
