Export Question: Show in Library only?

Using the 4E_JPG ruleset, I decided to make a monster manual module, so that I don't have to re-enter monsters for every adventure I make. Initially I had hoped to just keep that module open, and link to the personality entries in it with other modules. It works... kinda. Apparently if you have multiple modules loaded, and each one has personalities in it--they start doing weird things, combining their Power entries. I don't know if this is specific to the ruleset or not (probably, as the d20 ruleset doesn't have an expanding power list).

Anyway, I was hoping there is a way to export a module so that it only shows up in the Library, but not in the tabs. (I want to export the personalities from my monster manual campaign into a library entry, but not have them show up in the Personality tabs.)

You can't really use the /export command to do this. It really only works well for adventure modules and a few other oddball things - not monsters though. The good news is that entered personalities are usually a strong candidate for being cut an pasted into the xml of a Libarary Book Module.

Griogre has it right. The xml layout of NPCs and library module monsters is identical, it is just the wrapping xml which differs. Take a look at the standard d20 monster list to get the feel of it.

Okay, that's good news at least, but right now I'll just keep using my monster manual module to build adventures. (I open the module--which indexes in the library) then drag the NPC entries into the base tab for the campaign, then close the monsters module. Quick and easy way to add monsters to my adventure.

Once the 4E_JPG ruleset stabilizes (or SW puts one out), I'll consider fleshing out a monster manual library module.
