Curse of Strahd - Fall 2025
Greetings to my D&D 5e Curse of Strahd campaign!
What:
I am starting up a new CoS campaign and am looking for players to journey into the accursed lands of Barovia to test their might against the legendary Strahd von Zarovich! We will be using the legacy pre-2024 ruleset for D&D 5e and starting at Level 1. Expect an atmospheric and immersive role-playing game.
Who:
3-6 players of any level of experience, new players especially welcome!
I am a DM who has played mainly D&D 5e for 10+ years and hosted many campaigns getting back into the DM chair after some time away. I tend to focus more on the story over the math, and think that the more unintended places the story goes makes it that much more memorable for the people sharing it together. Really, the only way to win is to have fun.
When:
Every Sunday from 10a ~ 2p Mountain Time - UTC/GMT -6
Where:
Fantasy Grounds (FG) will be used for the VTT
Discord will be used for communication
You need a good headset and mic, a webcam or laptop mic will not work
Why:
-The goal of this is for everyone to get a break from their real-life for a few hours, dive into a fantasy world and have fun. Everyone needs to want to play this game, be part of a team, work together to solve problems and make decisions, and move your story forward. There will be no bullying or harassing people at all, ever, for anything. We all mess up or take too long sometimes, I certainly will during the course of this campaign and that’s ok.
Basics:
-Anyone can pause the session for any reason at any time. Simply say it, if something needs to be discussed further then bring it up to me privately and I will do my best to address any concerns.
-There is no PvP in this campaign
-If you know you cannot attend msg me in discord 24hrs before the session
-If there are less than 3 people who can attend, or there is a major story beat happening, then we may postpone.
-Too many missed sessions can get you kicked
What to expect:
While this campaign is for beginners, it is not for the faint of heart. It is not whimsical. It is a horror themed campaign and contains disturbing subject matter. Content warnings are Ableism, abusive "romantic" relationships, abusive familial relationships, body horror, cannibalism, clowns / dolls / "uncanny" scary things, cultural bigotry, disease, extreme classism, extreme violence, extreme violent entitlement, genocide, incest, medical body horror, police brutality / corrupt "justice", sexual violence, spiders / other creepy crawlies, starvation and privation, suicide, torture, and violence towards children (sometimes lethal).
Having said that, it is also widely regarded as one of the best campaigns to play for D&D 5e and I plan on doing my best to bring every aspect of it to life. If that sounds like your kind of fun then reach out to me and let me know why you'd like to join.
Once you reach out to me I will schedule a private session with you for our session 0. This will be to get the tools are setup and ready to go on your side, and to plan out your player character and create them in FG. Once we have at least 3 people we can start the campaign.
