Hi guys,

I must confess that I've not bought F.G. yet. I'm not a whiz at computers by any means, so I was just wondering is it easy to set up, and use for someone like me?:o

Also, are most of the games played via "skype" or some similar program? I'm not really to into the whole typing thing to be honest.

Lastly, is it handy enough to customize for other games? I'm a mad Savage Worlds fan so that part will be cool:D . But I play lots of horror games, so I'd like to be able to use the program for those too if possible.

Many thanks for the info'... and apologies if I'm covering old ground again, I'm sure you guys get loads of similar questions.

All the best, and looking forward to being part of the community. :)

If you are playing all you really need is the software. If you want to run a game then you are going to have to open port 1802 and port forward it to your computer. Most people, even rank technophobs, can do this eventually (or find a friend to do it for them). The good news is you can do this for the demo before buying if you want to make sure it is not going to be a problem.

I would say the majority of games use some VoIP software. However there is a passionate minority who absolutely hate voice and some games only use voice for out of character.

Technophobs will not like building new rulesets. I *usually* get along with my computer, but I wouldn't normally build a ruleset. I could I suppose but it takes a fair amount of effort. However a there is a free generic ruleset available which you can use for any game you don't have a more elaborate ruleset for. It's only a two page blank character sheet but it gets the job done. And fortunately for you for a meer 12 bucks - Digital Adventures sells a Savage World Ruleset already made.

Also once again you only have to worry about rulesets if you are planning to run a game. If you just want to play you don't have to worry about them. On the VoIP thing, you just need to ask if a game is using it and how.

Which horror games as mentioned Digital Adventures have produced the Savage Worlds ruleset (original and Explorers) and that can be used as it's generic. Note that they are scheduled to release Call of Cthulu (d100) in time for Gencon.

If you haven't already check out www.savageworldsonline.net
