View Full Version : One of my players cannot use DEMO anymore. Stuck at 4.7.5 free

We had to pause campaign.

He downloaded several times reinstalling it the demo software.

It downloads the 4.7.5 free but when he clicks on "check for updates" it closes everything.

Any guide on what to do?

I suppose waiting a few weeks doing nothing will not help.

What graphics card are they using?

If they have an AMD Radeon HD card, it may be related to a Unity issue. See information here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?85693-Fantasy-Ground-Updater-encounters-errors-no-matter-what-I-do&p=749996&viewfull=1#post749996 Post #7 gives some information on things to try.

Can we expect some sort of fix, easy fix and just wait, or the player must actively do something? My friend doesn't know what to do, we paused the Campaign waiting that something happens.

Seems logs are not even there.

At this point we wait a bit more, just let me know if someone else has any other advice. Thank you @Trenloe anyway, we will keep an eye on what you suggest.

He told me yesterday he tried but it doesn't work.

I think he has AMD graphic card and Win10.

He hopes you will fix somehow but I told him fixes don't come down from heaven and he should do something actively.

I asked him for logs.

Not easy and fast though, I live in northern Italy, he lives in center Italy.

I try to supply logs.

Unfortunately, this is an issue with Unity; and they don't even have a fix in any build as far as the their bug tracker status shows, let alone in a long-term support build.

Definitely make sure that he has checked and is using the latest AMD graphics drivers. If that doesn't work, Windows 11 upgrade is free, and fixes the issue as well.
