View Full Version : Getting ghosts from FG connection

So, I spent the last 4 hours playing in my Sunday game. After the game, I started working on a conversion I had been working on earlier in the day.
I opened the campaign on my machine. Opened the images masterindex and saw (image 1).
(The master index shows the files from the previous connection) I was a player in that game, and that is the GM's view of that game, as per the game's GM.

None of the links worked for the images; they just open blank windows.
No modules were loaded. (Image 2)
SF2 Dark Theme was the only extension.

The console opened up. I tried to compile the logs.
I could not (There was two logs for today. Included below), as FG was locking out the screen, then it would stop, then it would do it again. I had to end task to get out of FG.

If SW needs the campaign, I can provide it. Just not here.
Memory leak?
Any Thoughts?

The log file console.log shows multiple extensions:

[8/31/2025 8:55:48 AM] EXTENSION: Success Level Colors\nfor PFRPG2 Release 19\nby Zaister

Hundreds of warnings like these :

[8/31/2025 11:47:54 AM] [WARNING] window: Anchored static width ignored for control (initdecrease) in windowclass (activity_action)
[8/31/2025 11:47:54 AM] [WARNING] window: Anchored static width ignored for control (apply) in windowclass (activity_action)

And then it shows a stack overflow error:

[8/31/2025 1:11:12 PM] [ERROR] ONUNLOAD - DB: System.StackOverflowException: The requested operation caused a stack overflow.

I would reboot and try again, with zero extensions. Try to capture the steps that cause the problem.

Sorry, I don't understand what you are trying to say then. Will need more details.

There was a stack overflow error at 8/31/2025 8:57:37 AM (reported in the Player.log file) at the same time as the following error reported in the console.log file: [8/31/2025 8:57:37 AM] [ERROR] Invalid matrix for in SetTransform.

The Stack Overflow error at 1:11:12 PM was probably caused by the previous issue.

These occurred while you were a player, but it looks like you didn't restart Fantasy Grounds - you exited to the startup screen and then loaded your "Master - Derelict Starships" campaign as the GM - which then also experienced a stack overflow error at 1:27:59 PM.

In future I'd recommend you completely exit Fantasy Grounds after experiencing any similar Stack Overflow errors - application memory could be compromised and you could subsequently experience all sorts of issues, including those you saw.

What is concerning is the cause of the original stack overflow error. It occurred just after the two following requests:

[8/31/2025 8:57:37 AM] NETWORK SEND FILE REQUEST: tokens/Extinction Curse/tree.xml
[8/31/2025 8:57:37 AM] NETWORK SEND FILE REQUEST: tokens/Extinction Curse/tree.png
What isn't clear is if the stack overflow occurred as a result of these commands or something that happened after that, wasn't logged in the log files.

As a follow up to my previous post - I don't see a tree.png in any of the Extinction Curse products, so I assume that this is something the GM has added to their setup. Also, there's not normally an XML file associated with tokens - XML files are usually associated with files in the images directory for either LoS/lighting (for maps) or pseudo 3D positioning for camera images. I'm wondering if it's this that might be causing the issue?

I've reported to Carl as well to see if he has any ideas. But as @Trenloe mentioned, after any error conditions, always best to restart apps from scratch.
