If I want to sell something on the Forge, what happens to any Gold I charged for said item? Does it just go into my Forge "treasury" or am I paid out in USD at some point?

Ok. Its probably on the same schedule for the work I do converting books to modules then. Thank you.

It gets paid out regularly, but there is a 30 day wait period since purchases can be refunded up to 30 days after purchase.
