View Full Version : Error when Players Join Shadowdark RPG Campaign

When having players join my campaign they are encountering some latency in die rolls and substantial error toast regarding:
[ERROR] Handler error: [string "CoreRPG:scripts/manager_story.lua"]:361: attempt to index local w' (a nil value)
65294
65295
As the GM, I am not encountering these errors or latency in die rolls in my client.
I have no extensions loaded.
GM Compiled Log filename appended with [GM] as well as player logs attached.

I'm not seeing this on a local test session; or anything in the GM logs that stands out.
Is there anything that the player is trying to do that is triggering the error, or just logging in?
Can they try deleting the cache for that campaign, and try to connect again?
(Click on the folder icon on FG launch screen, go to cache folder within FG data folder, delete the subfolder matching the campaign name, exiting FG, then restarting and reconnecting.)

Thanks for the reply, Moon Wizard.
It seems that the latency on die-rolls has abated, but all three of my players are still encountering this error messaging when landing on the desktop of the client. The only thing that I changed between last week and this week was adding (and then disabling) Bayne's Bag of Holding- 5E (PLUS 2E, Shadowdark, PF, PF2, 3.5, 4E and CnC) (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/626/view). I disabled the extension when the issue first started, but when the error-messaging persisted I assumed it was a broader problem with FGU/the ruleset.
After chewing on your response for a minute, I wonder if you're not seeing the issue locally because it's tied to something that extension created on the players' clients through the Party Sheet. I'll have them delete their campaign cache for now, and hope that resolves it.

It's possible that extensions can create data that causes issues, though rare. If still seeing the issue after clearing their cache; I might need a zipped up copy of campaign folder to see if I can recreate here using your specific campaign.
